Ewen Danzeisen

I’m Ewen, 27, and I’m a freelance fashion designer specializing in ready-to-wear, tailoring and pattern-making. I came to fashion through the desire to make. After initially studying literature, I realised I needed a more physical and instinctive form of expression, and turned to garment-making as a way to work directly with my hands. Since then, my practice has developed around craft, technical precision, and a sustained attention to the material life of clothing. I conceive garments as spaces of protection, strength, and intimacy. My work is grounded in construction and wearability, with a particular interest in the dialogue between technical functionality and traditional tailoring. Through this approach, I seek to create pieces that are not only visually resolved, but also deeply felt — garments that people can inhabit, keep, and make their own. Shaped in part by my Japanese heritage, my visual language is informed by restraint, layered silhouettes, and a careful attention to detail. I see fashion not as image alone, but as a tangible practice rooted in making, where identity and utility meet through the garment.
